Who was Nikola Tesla?
Tesla Systems is an American physicist and electrical engineer who made the
largest contributions to the development of the use of electrical alternating current.
Although not as well known as Thomas Edison, without Nikola's contributions to the field
of electricity, our lives would not be the same today. Alternating current electricity
(more commonly known as AC current) is what is used in homes and businesses throughout the
world today. Tesla
Systems invented the alternating current induction generator, a device that
changes mechanical energy into alternating current electricity, and the Tesla coil, a
transformer that changes the frequency of alternating current. The unit of measure known
as the TESLA was named after this great inventor. Tesla
Systems
is responsible for several other
revolutionary concepts in his time - please see our

privilege to
use his name for our organization. |
